This is Sammie's co-op group. It was the idea of a couple of moms. I just happened to be called by the organizer and asked if I wanted to participate.

It is great. What we do is, pair up into 2-mom teams. There are 6 of us so it works out perfect. Then the 1st Thursday, the 1st team teaches all the kids for 2 hours. We revolve the theme around the ABC's. For example, this week was my week with my team member, Lynette. Our letter was E. So we started by calling out different words beginning with E and F (the letter from 2 weeks ago). The kids would guess what letter. Then we read a story (top left picture) about Elijah (E). We then did stations were they used different materials to make E's (top right picture). In the bottom picture we were talking about the senses, ie. eyes and ears (E) and letting them try to imagine what life would be like without the sense of sight. We gave them different objects and the tried to figure out what they were holding.

The nice part is the 2nd Thursday we go on a field trip (firestation, police station, etc.) and the weeks that I have off, I can just drop Sammie off at the other team's house and have 2 hours to myself!!! I love that!

God's Wrath

A couple of different friends of mine and I have gotten into the conversation talking about whether hurricane Katrina was "God's wrath" upon New Orleans. I was taught earlier in my christian walk that God's wrath was poured out upon Jesus on the cross.

But a few things I've been taught lately have caused me to think....

First of all, John the Baptist said that the wrath of God abides on people who don't believe in the Son. So, if you have a large population of people who do not believe in the Son, are they more likely to have a catastrophe happen because the wrath is upon so many of them?

Romans 2:5 says that someone who has a hard and impenitent heart treasures up (stores up) wrath against the day of wrath. Or so it seems, has like an "account" that builds up and then before the throne, they are judged.
So that makes it sound like wrath is not until we are judged before the throne.

One other thought....

Romans 8:22 says, For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. It is talking about the groaning, waiting for the adoption or redemption of the body.
So does the earth also groan because of the wickedness on the earth? ie. earthquakes, hurricanes, etc.?

Another mommy exercise

Okay, for this exercise you lie on the floor (on your back) with your feet on the ground and your knees pulled in.

You take the child that best meets your physical ability and sit them on your belly.

Then you tighten your rear and lift it off the ground. Your child will of course think this is a type of roller-coaster. Go up and down until you are too tired or your kid falls off.

Before you know it, you will have a butt won't quit!

You'd better see a Doctor about that

Today, Paul got a phone call at his computer shop from an old Southern man who owns a local gas station.
Leroy is a 'good ol boy' in his 60's who has finally dragged himself into the computer age after many years of resisting.
Well, he called Paul's shop and said he wanted to add a "vd burner" to his computer.

Paul immediately responded, "You'd better see a doctor about that. I'm a christian fellow, I don't know anything about that. But if you want me to install a "cd burner" I'd be glad to help.

Both Paul and Leroy were laughing hysterically. Paul has quite a sense of humor.

God Made me that Way

Tonight, Sammie came home from her friend, Brennen's house.

She heard Paul and I talking about putting a waterfall in the backyard (just dreaming) and she said,

"I have a good idea Daddy!"

Paul said, "What is it, Sammie?"

Sammie said, "We should put a waterslide in the frontyard"

Paul said, "But you've never been to a waterslide, how do you know you like them?" (He thought he caught her)

After a couple seconds of silence, Sammie said, "But I like waterslides because that's the way God made me!"

At Peace

Paul and I just finished a season in our lives where we worked hard for the Lord, saw a lot of attacks from the enemy and spread the word to many, many people.

So now He is giving us a time of rest. So why do I find it so hard to rest? I feel an itching to get back into the fight, even though it was one of the hardest times a spiritual attack ever!

I do know one thing...the desire to go back to Ecuador, South America is very strong. We have not been there in a few years and we have received several emails from the Pastor down there, wanting us to come back for another evangelistic trip. I am ready to go...I'm just waiting on the Lord to say when.

Right now, I guess the best thing to do is to try and enjoy this time of rest; to soak it for all its worth, because sooner or later, the Lord's going to throw us right back in the fight and I have to be ready and rested.

Ha ha ha

Mujibar was trying to get into the USA legally through Immigration. The Officer said, "Mujibar, you have passed all the tests, except there is one more test. Unless you pass it you cannot enter the United States of America. Mujibar said, "I am ready." The officer said, "Make a sentence using the words Yellow, Pink and Green." Mujibar thought for a few minutes and said, "Mister Officer, I am ready." The Officer said, "Go ahead." Mujibar said, "The telephone goes green, green, green, and I pink it up, and say, 'Yellow, this is Mujibar.'" Mujibar now lives in a neighborhood near you and works at a Verizon help desk. Yep for sure, I talked to him yesterday. "Love doesn't make the world go 'round, love is what makes the ride worthwhile."- Franklin P. Adams (1881-1960)
