The Sunroom

We were finally able to finish off the sunroom!! Here are some pictures of the finished product.
There are only a few things we still have to do: put trim around the windows and the door.

It is very bright in here, we love how comfortable this room is.

The rest of our house seems so dark now.

Eliana and the sunroom

It took me about 35 pictures to get a few that I liked. Thank God for digital cameras!! Eliana is definately at the stage where she is not interested in having her picture taken. So to get her to sit still, I have her to tell me stories or I ask her questions and while she is answering, I snap away.
Here, Eliana is examining a little craft of Jesus in a manger.

I didn't mean for this shot to end up in the set, but we haven't shown the latest in our sunroom addition. We had a screened-in porch which was great but not very usable. In the summer, the only time we would use it was to drink smoothies. In the spring it was nice, after I cleaned up all the pollen (if you've ever been to the South during the Spring, everything gets covered in yellow pine tree pollen. When Paul and I first got married, he came running in and said, "Jennifer, you're not going to believe this but someone spray-painted the truck." I went out and said, "Paul that's just pollen.") In the winter, we just used the porch for cookouts and storing firewood. So the fall was the best time to be out there. Now that the sunroom is almost finished, it will be like another room added onto our house. We're gonna need it will three kids!!!

Helpin' in the Kitchen

There is nothing a child likes to do more than help Mommy in the kitchen. On the weekends, I will usually make special breakfasts and this morning it started off with buttermilk biscuits! Here Eliana is showing off her handiwork.
The tops of drinking glasses make great biscuit cutters. Eliana was helping to push them down and then twist. Of course, she wanted to do it by herself, but I helped a little.

Yes, the fingers are gross but it's just flour. I even take off my wedding rings (no one needs a crunchy surprise).

Eliana wanted to put the biscuits on the baking sheet, too. But everytime I would let her get the biscuit herself it ended up looking like a work of art, not a biscuit, so here is my compromise.
